Hi,
its been a while, thanks for all your comments.
Development didn't go into the direction I thought it would.
the current status:
- new GUI (not as nice as the old one but easier to maintain)
- new bookmark system (unlimited bookmarks, easier control)
- RAR/CBR support (seems to work pretty good)

maybe I will release a test version without MP3 support but with CBR and CBZ.

Hi,
next week I'll start to work on the 0.85 version.

here are some things i'm planning to do:
-expand the mp3 player (more information about the played file, maybe shuffle or playlist support)
-add a page counter (like in 0.7)
-add sound remote control
-implement some sort of thumbnail browsing
-adjust the precaching and the internal resizing, make it more dynamic (double page problem)
-...

thoughts:
-there seems to be no need to remove the resolution limit for the other image formats like gif

questions:
-are 2 cached images enough? (it works for me)
-Is the 111Mhz mode needed? does it really give you more runtime? did anyone test this? I could enhance the gui but the 111mhz mode is holding me back.

here is the new version.

what is it?
PeP-Viewer is an Imageviewer for the Sony PSP.
It is optimized to work with mangas and comics.

what is new?
-the resolution limitation for jpeg and png was removed
-there is a new precache feature that lowers the delay between switching pages
-gui improved
-some new options in Config
-a lot of small changes i don't remember now

i decided to include the precaching-feature.
this will only work for jpeg and pngs.

a question: do you use other image formats with this program? gif?

hi,
i'm back from the dead.
all the c++ porting stuff is done.
mp3 is working.
the 1500*1500px resolution limit is gone (for jpeg and png).
several smaller changes.
i hope to release a stable version in about 2 weeks

who wants to beta test?

hi,
i am happy to see that the 0.7 version is working pretty stable,
currently i'm working on porting the whole thing to c++,
almost everything except the mp3-part is already working,

lol,
one month later and i havent worked much on this program,
but im happy to report that the 0.7 version is tested and ready to be released

it should be a bit more stable than v0.6.5 :)

try the "start", "select" and "square" buttons while viewing a picture

it's been a while since the last post and i had some other things to take care of
but now i'm back working on the pep-viewer

a beta of the next version is available.
not all the stuff i wanted in is ready, but i think it will be a good test for the new gui and a much more stable version than the ones before

hi,

i've added a new feature
the content of the blue rectangle will be shown magnified in the red one,
this should be usefull for reading small fonts without having to resize the complete picture,

- streaming mp3 from ms was sucessfully tested

i am currently working on a new version with a better gui (thx mav) and hopefully less bluescreens (maybe i make them green :)

the gui will be more intuitive (x=ok, o=back for all the navigation)

Bug in Preload-Function

The 0.6.5 version has a bug in the preload-function,
(it does not check if the next file is an image or not)

if you are experiencing problems (bluescreens) then just deactivate the "preload" option.
press:(select / L / Square)

you can go to 333mhz to compensate for the speedloss

-optimized ram usage, 2mb saved, but sdl still uses a lot of ram while rotating/resizing an image

About:
------
PeP-Viewer is a comic and picture viewer for the Sony PSP handheld.
It supports JPEG and PNG images with no Height, Width or Size limitations.

Installation:
=============
Considering you have a homebrew able PSP (for example version 1.5), you COPY
the folders pepv08 and pepv08% to your GAME folder in your memory stick.
The files should then be in \PSP\GAME\pepv08 and \PSP\GAME\pepv08%

The application should be compatible with any PSP that can run homebrew.
Meaning: 1.5, any PSP with HEN and any PSP with a Custom Firmware.

NOTE that if you have a custom firmware you homebrew folder will probably be
GAME150 instead of GAME, depending on your settings.

Controls and Settings
=====================

Controls while in Settings:
---------------------------
X: Confirm or enter a selection or option.
CIRCLE: Main menu or back.
D-PAD: Is used to browse between options or selections. Also D-Pad Left and
Right can be used in big lists of selections to jump 5 rows up or
down.
SELECT: Pops Up the mp3 player options.
L-TRIGGER and R-TRIGGER: In the Files browser it jumps to the first or last
selection.

Controls while in Image Viewer:
-------------------------------
CIRCLE: Main menu.
SQUARE: Pops Up the ZoomBox. Pressing again toggles between the 3 Zoom
Levels.
D-PAD: Is used to move the image around.
ANALOGUE STICK: Is used to move the image around.
L-TRIGGER: Next image.
R-TRIGGER: Previous image.
SELECT: Pops up the mp3 player options.
START: Pops up Various resizing options and image information.

Config:
-------

CPU-Speed: 3 settings adjust the CPU speed to your needs, 111, 222 and 333.

Precaching: Precaching allows you to silently load the next 1 or 2 pages
while you are reading. This minimizes the loading time near
zero.
Image Padspeed: Not a lot to say about it. 4 different speed settings,
Slow, Middle, Fast and Faster.

Image Analogspeed & Zoom Padspeed & Zoom Analogspeed: Same as above.

Fit to : Here you can set a default resizing option. You can choose between
None, Width, Height, Double Page and Width+Offset

Fit to offset: Here you choose the offset for the Width+Offset option above.
You can choose between 0, 20, 40, 60 or 80.

Rotation: Choose a default rotation setting of 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees.

Top/Center/Bottom: Choose from where the image should start.

Left/Center/Right: Same as above, choose from where the image should start.

X and Y Offset: Are used to configure the starting point of an image with
more precision.

Reverse L & R: Reversing the L & R triggers.

Bookmark:
---------
The bookmarking feature is quite simple and is explained in the application
itself as well.
First use SQUARE to set a bookmark and then use R-TRIGGER to save. X to load
a bookmark and TRIANGLE to delete. Press CIRCLE to go back to the main menu.

MP3:
----
As with bookmarks the controls are explained in the application itself.
Browse to you mp3 songs which should appear in blue and then press
TRIANGLE to Pause, SQUARE to Stop, X to play and CIRCLE back to the main
menu.
The folders appear in green colour and the mp3 files in blue. Everything
else that is not supported will appear in light grey colour.

Files:
------
Here you browse to your comics. The folders appear again in green colour and
the supported images in light blue. Everything else that is not supported
will appear in light grey colour.
